Public Radio Heavyweights Demonstrate Why Listening is Believing
April 27, 2015; Washington, DC – NPR, WBEZ and WNYC, the major public radio players in the podcast space, will showcase the reach and influence of their podcasts at the industry’s first-ever podcast upfront this week in New York City. This unique opportunity for brands and agencies to learn about one of the fastest-growing platforms for audio will be held on Wednesday, April 29th from 5 to 7pm at (Le) Poisson Rouge in New York City.

CHICAGO—Chicago Public Media (CPM) announced today that award-winning host and correspondentRichard Steele will retire Oct. 10 after 27 years with the media company.
May 27, 2014 – Chicago Public Media invites the public to check out the new location of its South Side Bureau, 322 E. 75th Street (at Prairie), at an open house Friday, June 13, 4-8 p.m. Award-winning Chicago Public Media journalist and South Side Bureau reporter Natalie Y. Moore will be on hand, along with Vocalo DJ Ayana Contreras (Reclaimed Soul), to welcome folks to the Bureau, listen to some music and enjoy complimentary food and beverages.
Chicago - Starting July 1, 2014, Chicago Public Media and Ira Glass will start independently distributing the public radio show This American Life to over 500 public radio stations. Episodes will be delivered to radio stations by PRX, The Public Radio Exchange. Since 1997, the show has been distributed by Public Radio International.
Chicago - Chicago Public Media (CPM) announced today that Goli Sheikholeslami has been selected by the board of directors as the organization's new chief executive officer and president.
Sheikholeslami is a highly regarded media executive who has served in a number of executive roles at leading news organizations, including The Washington Post. Sheikholeslami will begin her new position May. 5.

[MARCH 18, 2014] Chicago Public Media's Vocalo 90.7 FM invites friends and foes to their first ever #hatersball, a fundraiser, concert and dance party, on Friday, April 11 at Chop Shop, 2033 W. North Avenue. The multi-tiered evening in Chop Shop's 6,000 square foot party space is both a celebration of the vocalo community and fun party to cap off their pledge drive that takes place the week leading up. Featuring music from JC Brooks, the Vocalo DJ Collective and DJ Ayana Contreras.

[Boston] October 21, 2013 - Boston's NPR news station, 90.9 WBUR, has announced reporter Becky Vevea of Chicago member station WBEZ as the winner of the 2013 Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize. Now in its 12th year, the prize is named for the respected NPR senior news analyst and veteran Washington journalist Daniel Schorr, who died in 2010.

August 21, 2013 - Chicago Public Media invites Public Media fans to double-knot their running shoes and keep up with Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me! host Peter Sagal for the inaugural 5k "Ready, Wait...Wait, Go!" fun-run on Tuesday, September 10, 7p.m. beginning and ending at Universal Sole, 333 East Benton Place. Runners will enjoy a relaxed after-work run with Sagal along the picturesque Chicago lakefront. Afterword, participants can cool off with refreshments, music and a lot of Sagal goodness to honor WBEZ's first ever fun-run fundraiser.
